Parish Lectors are parish members, adults or youth, who proclaim the Readings from the Word of God during our Masses and other Services.
On Sundays and Major Holy Days, this involves a 1st Reading (usually from the Old Testament) and a 2nd Reading (selected from the epistles in the New Testament). If there is no cantor or organist, the lector may also be asked to lead the recitation (or chanting) of the Responsorial Psalm between the two other readings.
